Growing up in Northern California, not far from the rocky coast, the beautiful Sierras, and the Golden Gate City, Sofie Mae yearned for adventure. She began singing at a young age, accompanying her dad as he played jazz standards on his guitar and taking inspiration from her grandmother's albums, which included artists such as Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. As a result, jazz became a major influence in her love for music.
As a young woman, she left to travel across the United States, by way of thumb or freight train, playing music wherever her feet carried her. A true singer-songwriter, she sings from her heart, bringing joy through her songs to listeners.
