The Way of the Woodshop Retreat with Aleksandra Zee

Join us for an inspiring workshop retreat with skilled Bay Area woodworker, Aleksandra Zee. To celebrate the release of her new book, The Way of the Woodshop. Aleksandra will be leading workshops so you can learn to build the beautiful pieces featured in her book. She will be joined by partner and musician, Antrom Kury who will be performing nightly around the campfire. Dinner by local favorite, Trillium Cafe, is included in this special engagement and wine will be poured by Anderson Valley vintners including, Bee Hunter Wine, Navarro and Leighton.
Due to the nature of this workshop and level of instructions, participation is limited to 30 people. Tents are priced for double occupancy and you are welcome to bring a partner or friend who may want to skip the workshop to glamp-out and unwind.
Included in the retreat:
Two-night/three-day stay in a glamping tent of your choice (price may vary according to tent type - Bluff View tents, for example, run a bit more, while Easy Access tents run a little less).
Morning and afternoon workshops led by Aleksandra Zee, plus lots of opportunity for one-on-one help
Materials for complete project - tools list will be emailed to you pre-event
Meals - continental breakfasts and delicious dinners from local favorite, Trillium Cafe, paired with wines with from Anderson Valley vintners including Phillips Hill and Bee Hunter

Aleksandra Zee is an Oakland-based woodworker with a degree in Fine Arts whose work as a display artist for Anthropologie led her to woodworking career. She creates and sells original and commissioned pieces, teaches workshops at her studio in Oakland, and also takes workshops on the road, speaking regularly to audiences on her craft. Her debut book, The Way of the Woodshop, will allow you to master the basics of woodworking, from choosing the right lumber, to understanding different wood types and grains, to curating a tool collection.
How to book:
First, select the dates of the engagement - October 28 & 29 (departing the 30th).
Next, select a tent type. You can learn more on our tent types page. If you are going to share a tent and want twin beds, select an “easy access” tent”
Once you’ve selected a tent type, you will be directed to a list of “add-ons” before check-out.
From this list, add “Aleksandra Zee Workshop” to your cart. This fee is per person and covers workshop materials, instructions, and breakfasts & dinners.
If you're sharing a tent and both want the workshop, you’ll add two of these to your basket. If your tent mate only wants meals send us and email and we will add the meals only to your reservation.
